Every other outdoor kitchen pod on the market lifts its door with exposed hydraulic rams — visible chrome cylinders bolted to the frame, like a tipper truck. Ours are concealed: around 90% of the electro-hydraulic mechanism sits behind an integrated cover panel. The result is the cleanest, quietest, best-looking pod door in the UK.

How does the electric door on an outdoor kitchen work?
Press the remote fob and the door lifts vertically in about 3.5 seconds, revealing the whole kitchen. Press again and it closes, sealing the interior against weather, dust and pets. The mechanism is electro-hydraulic and silent.
Are the hydraulic rams visible?
No — PoshBBQ is the only outdoor kitchen pod with concealed rams. Around 90% of the mechanism sits behind an integrated cover panel. Every competing pod has exposed chrome pistons bolted to the frame.
What happens in a power cut?
The door can be operated manually via a simple override, and the pod ships with two fobs plus a wall switch. The mechanism holds its position without power, so a closed door stays closed.
Does the electric door seal against British weather?
Yes. Closed, the door forms a weather-tight seal around the whole kitchen — the 304 stainless interior stays dry and clean through winter storms, so there is no spring clean before your first BBQ of the year.
Is the electric door safe around children?
The door moves slowly (3.5 seconds), is driven by a low-force hydraulic system, and requires a deliberate fob press to operate. There are no exposed pinch points on the exterior.
